About Tzvi Felder, MSW, RSW

I became a therapist because I am deeply interested in and care about people. I don’t believe a therapist’s job is to fix people. Techniques matter, but they only become meaningful inside a real human relationship.

Many of the men I work with are functioning well on the outside while privately carrying shame, loneliness, anger, relationship pain, or patterns they can’t seem to break. I care a lot about the things inside people they are most afraid for someone else to know. Often, being able to bring those parts into a relationship where they are understood helps them accept themselves.

My style is warm, direct, curious, and human. I am not interested in forcing you into a theory or deciding what your problem means before I know you. I want us to understand what is happening together, be honest about it, and help you build a relationship with yourself and with the people in your life that allows you to feel more at home in your own life.

Clinical Philosophy: Life Isn't a Disease

When you struggle with compulsive pornography use, gambling, anger, self-doubt, or other repetitive patterns, I don't assume that means you are weak, broken, or simply not trying hard enough. There is usually more going on than a lack of willpower.

My role is not to scold, shame, or decide your story before I know you. We look carefully at the pattern itself, the context around it, and what needs to change. Understanding behaviour does not mean excusing it; it gives us somewhere real to begin and can create more freedom to choose. Insight without action leaves you stranded.

What to Expect

Therapy shouldn't feel mysterious. Here's what beginning work with me usually looks like.

01

Free 30-Minute Video Consultation

A brief video conversation to discuss what brings you to therapy, answer your questions, and see whether we are a good fit. You don't need to prepare or tell me your whole story.

02

Getting to Know You

The early sessions are about getting a clear picture of the problem in context—what is happening now, your relationships, history, coping patterns, strengths, values, and what you would like to be different. We decide together what the work should focus on.

03

The Work

Sessions are usually weekly or bi-weekly. Depending on what you need, the work may include working with relationship and emotional patterns, working with shame, carefully exploring past experiences, building practical skills, and making changes in the present. When practical, I generally encourage in-person therapy in Toronto because I value being in the room together. Virtual sessions remain available across Ontario when they are the better fit for your life.

04

Bringing It Into Your Life

The goal isn't simply to understand yourself in the therapy room. Over time, therapy should help you carry what you are learning into how you handle emotions, make decisions, set boundaries, cope with urges, and relate to the people who matter to you.
